Sir Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones back in Australia to play dates rescheduled following the death of L'Wren Scott
The Rolling Stones have returned to Australia to play the shows that were postponed following the death of Sir Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, L’Wren Scott.
The singer was pictured horsing around with bandmates Ronnie Wood, Keith
Richards and Charlie Watts at Adelaide Oval, where they will play on
Saturday. It is the first of a string of rescheduled dates.
Miss Scott was
found dead in her Manhattan apartment in March, while Sir Mick was in
Australia preparing for a show.
The tour was halted until May, when the band honoured their European dates.
They last played in July.
Their arrival in Adelaide has caused much excitement, with reporters visiting
the Italian restaurant where Sir Mick was spotted having dinner and asking
to sample the pasta dish he ate.
The band are reported to be rehearsing in studios set in the grounds of a
psychiatric hospital.
More than 50,000 people will attend Saturday’s gig and the Stones’ production manager, Dale Skjerseth, said the show would not be over-burdened by special effects because seeing the band would be special enough.
“These guys have been doing it for 50-something years now. That’s pretty impressive,” he said.
