Celebrities like Renee Zellweger face huge pressure to have plastic surgery.

Mr Nilesh Sojitra, a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Highgate Hospital, says that there is enormous pressure on older actresses such as Renee Zellweger to stay looking young to secure film roles

Bridget Jones actress Renee Zellweger actress sparked an Internet storm when she appeared at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards earlier this week looking unrecognisable.
The actress dismissed rumours of plastic surgery, saying the transformation is because she is now happy, healthy and living a “peaceful” life.
She told People magazine "I'm glad folks think I look different! I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows.”
Mr Nilesh Sojitra, consultant plastic surgeon and BAAPS (The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) member said that due to Hollywood's fixation on youth, there is enormous pressure on older actresses to keep looking young to secure film roles.
"A lot of celebrities such as Renee Zellweger face a lot of pressures in the acting industry. I myself have had patients who have had cosmetic surgery and have stressed it is important that people on screen or producers do not know that they have actually had something [done].

"From the patients that I've met, they may tell their close celebrity friends but it is not something that they boast about," he said.
"In Renee Zellweger's case, it's more 'I need to look a certain way' - and I can't say if she has or hasn't had cosmetic surgery - to get a certain role. And if I don't that is my main line of career shut down."
