Youths set Jonathan campaign buses on fire

Some irate youths went berserk in Jos on Saturday setting ablaze two campaign buses emblazoned with the picture of President Goodluck Jonathan and his Vice, Namadi Sambo.

The incident, which took place at Zololo junction by Mangu Street, along the Bauchi road in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, came barely 48 hours to the inauguration of the Peoples Democratic Party governorship campaign in Mangu Local Government Area.
The youths were said to have attacked the buses, said to be coming from Bauchi Road to Terminus. They also attacked another vehicle with PDP logo.
It was not clear why the buses were attacked, but when our correspondent contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Emmanuel Abuh, he asked for some time to contact the divisional police officer of C Division.

Abuh said he had yet to get the details of the incident, but our correspondent gathered that both drivers escaped unhurt.
It was also gathered that after the youths set the buses ablaze, they went on the rampage, smashing other cars on sight.
The incident created tension in the city, especially around Terminus and Ahmadu Bello Way, which was recently attacked by two bombers.
