Comedian Paddy McGuinness has tweeted a picture of a pair of iconic NHS spectacles as worn by Deirdre in Corrie.
He added: "Anne Kirkbride RIP.
"A part of our lives whether you knew her or not.
"She created such an iconic character."

Soap stars have been leading the tributes to Coronation Street legend Anne Kirkbride.
Anne played Deirdre Barlow in the soap for 43 years and was expected to make her long-awaited return to Coronation Street this month.
Several Corrie stars have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the star, calling her an "unforgettable lady".
Among those to pay tribute online were Samia Ghadie and Jennie McAlpine.
